Go West

Go west and tell me what you see
The beach, the shore line, the scenery?
Waves that lap upon the strand
Eager to kiss the grassy banks

The shells, like eyesores across the sand
Pushed by water to reach the land
Oceans retreat to the setting sun
Tints and hues shown to everyone

Moving from beaches to hills beyond
We find they have a common bond
For both are great and infinite in beauty
Untouched by man in his metal city

Upon a hilltop I will look away
As you depart, my bird of prey
If truly you belong to me
Then go west and tell me what you see

What's on the other side of that mountain?

From my house my eyes can see
A steeple, a church and an old oak tree
A road that leads from there to me
Then down to the valley for more there will be

Down by the road my ears can listen
To the breeze while light will glisten
But there is more that I am missing
So off I go for more there will be

Deep in the bush I smell a rose
For I must always use my nose
So I can know whatever grows
I search around for more there will be

Such fuzzy hills and gentle plains
The murk creeps in, the valley constrains
And up ahead a pass remains
Then up to the mountain for more there will be

The sun is setting, the higher I go
I can feel the ice and snow
Gusts of wind, I see it blow
But wait...
What's on the other side of that mountain?
